Ten Days of Discovery Itinerary April 29-May 8, 2009

 

 

In the Galilee, we will
* Visit Meggido, the place of the final battle of good over evil
* Enjoy a serene boat ride across the beautiful Sea of Galilee
* Visit Tabgha, where Jesus fed 5,000 by multiplying the loaves and the fish
* Ascend to the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount
* Travel to Chorazin and Bethsaida
* See the ancient synagogue in Capernaum where Jesus taught, and visit Peter’s House
* Participate in a baptismal service with Pastors Larry and Tiz at Yardenit on the Jordan River
* Visit Cana, the site of Our Lord’s first miracle, turning water to wine
* Travel to Zippori and see the ancient excavations
* Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Peter proclaimed to Jesus, “You are the Messiah! The Son of the Living God!”

In Jerusalem, we will
* Pray at Gethsemane, and visit the Church of All Nations
* Stand atop the Mount of Olives, where Jesus will return to the earth
* Visit the House of Caiphas
* Enter the Old City of Jerusalem via the Jaffa Gate and visit the market
* See the Praetorium and Pilates’ Hall of Judgment, where Jesus received His sentence from Pilate
* Walk the ancient Via Dolorosa, the path along which Jesus carried His cross to Calvary
* Explore the Church of Holy Sepuchre, where Golgotha’s hill is visible
* Pray at the Western Wall, part of the Temple Mount
* Walk through the Jewish Quarter
* Have a special communion service at the Garden Tomb with Pastors Larry and Tiz Huch
* Explore the newly discovered Gates of Old Jerusalem
* Visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum and Memorial
* See the Pools of Bethesda

We’ll Also Visit,
*Masada, Herod’s mountain top fortress, where the Jews took their heroic stand against the Roman army
* The Hills of Qumran, where an Arab shepherd boy discovered the Dead Sea scrolls in a cave
* The Dead Sea, lowest spot on earth
* En Gedi, the very oasis where David refreshed himself and hid from Saul
